Review: Excellent tool and a real bargain! - Cut through my 4/0 welding cable smooth, quick and easy! Well made and has a good finish. Comfortable handles. Some minor complaints were registered by others about the tool only ratcheting 1 or 2 clicks at a time. Apparently they don't understand that it it was 4 clicks per stroke with the same blade configuration that your arms would have to do twice the work to make a cut! Remember that this tool cuts very large wire and has to be built for leverage against the greater force large wire takes to cut. I am very impressed with the quality and function and for the price I consider it a bargain.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is maximum cutting capacity**
A: The description says 300mm2 which converts to just under 15/32 square inch or just under 1/2 inch square,  I have only used mine to cut 4/3 w ground and it cut that easily, it was probably larger than 1/2 inch square but a lot of that was insulation.  A 1/2 inch conductor is pretty big.  The jaws would accept over a square inch but you wouldn't want to tackle that much copper or aluminum. Hope this helps.  Don't try to cut anything harder.

**Q: Will it cut 1/4" ss cable?**
A: I've never cut stainless cable with it.

**Q: Are they safe to use on live wires**
A: I would not use them on live wires myself.  They are made of metal and the only insulation is the grips. They are not specifically rated for use on live power.  Any wire large enough to need cutters like these would most likely carry enough power to be lethal, so I would spend the extra money and get a proper tool.

**Q: will it cut 4/0 AWT wire?**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great buy for the money

I've used it to cut 3/0 cable and it worked fine. There's no instructions and it took me a minute to figure out you have to open the handles all the way to release the jaws so you can open or close them manually. I mostly use them to cut #2 or 3 wire because I'm losing strength in my hands and it's getting hard for me to use non ratcheting cutters.
