The first bamboo tumbler I received from desertcart leaked from the lid and did not retain its heat at all. After one hour it was barely luke warm. Rather than going through the desertcart return/exchange process, I instead tried directly contacting Leaf Life. They responded promptly and sent me a new tumbler. The replacement works perfectly for me, and I am completely satisfied. I like to brew loose herbal teas for an extended time so they will be nice and strong, yet still hot when I’m ready to drink them. After 5 hours in this tumbler, my tea is the perfect temperature for me, and after 8 hours it is still comfortably warm. In the past, I’ve used Zojirushi thermoses, which are still scalding hot after 8 hours. As a result, I have to pour my tea into a separate cup to drink. Not so with the Leaf Life - it’s the perfect temperature to drink directly from the tumbler when I’m ready. I also love the fact that the strainer and the inside of the mug are stainless steel. Though superior in heat retention, the Zojirushi tea infuser tumblers have a non-stick interior and a partially plastic tea strainer. I much prefer stainless steel, which was my primary reason for choosing the Leaf Life tumbler. The straining device itself works great - I love that you can either let the leaves float loose in the water for a long term brew, or put them inside the basket for a short term brew.
