This IS a seitan, right?I have been looking for a few meat alternatives to add to/ start a more plant-based diet regiment. But I really had no idea of where to start or what kind of "meat" to go with. Vejje seemed like I good option, small business so I decided to give them/it a shot.Anyhow, I liked it and it was easy enough to make. put in the requirements, water & olive oil. I used some sesame seed oil and some mushroom powder too on the second batch I made. The taste was ground beef-y enough and made like I want to say I near a pounds worth with each package.The texture is very ground beef like as well. I bought this along with the chicken flavored. I feel that the "ground beef" is much more successful at mocking both the flavor and texture than the chicken is, for me. In both, there are bits of soy I think. Which adds alot to the meaty mouth-feel.It just seems to lend itself better in the beef than the chicken.
