After drinking, blow air through the mouthpiece frequently, or drain the Filterstraw by shaking out as much water as you can. After using, remove the mouthpiece and flush it with clean water. (A standard water bag can be used, or a pop bottle with a standard thread diameter of 27.5mm can be filled with clean water to backwash the Filterstraw.) Cap the filter tightly after it has dried. Note: Do not use chemicals to clean the Filterstraw because they will shorten the service life of the carbon fiber filter. Working principle There are many micro-fibrous tubes in the 0.1-micron hollow fiber filters. Flows reasonable well so it doesn't take all day to filter a gallon of water. We do run the output of this into qallon, glass containers and add a drop of chlorine, then wait 24 hours to use. I thought it was useful to have in addition to a filter pump to bring water back to Camp. It seemed well-made, how long it will last Would probably depend on how dirty the water is that you put through it ,if you clean it consistently and if you were careful not to abuse it. But our area has Guardia and some other 'nasty' things which is why we bought this! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well made unit, easy to carry, appreciate the 3 way valve *by O***W on 3 August 2025* I installed a quick release at either end of the water flow pipe. Today, first use, two white cars. Water flow, direction was perfect. Very easy to set the valve into one of three positions. I did not want the cart that other brands offered. This unit was easy to carry out of the garage and into use on the driveway. It believe it is a good value for the money, time will tell how many washes I get before needing to replace the filters? I did a "test" on the 1st car, leaving a door and 1/2 windshield without a towel wipe. I'd say these areas came out 95% spotless.
