However, these filters do not have the cut out on one corner of the box to fit around the little tab that Trane puts in their filter housing. I was able to smash the filter enough to get it to fit but it definitely was not a perfect fit. Furthermore, I bought the MERV 11 filters and the ones I received were labeled as such. But these filters have fewer pleats per inch than the filters I replaced them with making me wonder if the truly are worthy of that high of a rating. Additionally the cardboard triangle cutouts that stick down into the pleats of the filter to lock everything in place were not secured well. More than half of them refused to stay put and stuck out into the airflow which I imagine reduced the airflow through the filter. Finally I recently noticed a lot of dust in the air but when I checked the filters, they were not very dirty which again makes me question the ability of these filters to really do the job.
