It worked a treat.It is good quality metal and I doubt I weakened it much by the amount I had to file off.I have no idea why it would not fit, but it was no real effort to file it slightly.I now have an extractor for that type of cassette that I never had before. It is sturdy and was well up to the job of removing a vintage freewheel that had not been removed for well over ten years.In particular the PT tool has large hex surfaces that enable you to get a good grip in the jaws of spanner or a vice.
