I connected the Chromecat to the HDMI connection on the converter and connected the RCA plugs on the converter to the corresponding color jacks on the television. Following the directions that accompanied the Chromecast receiver I attempted to use the Chromecast reciever, but I saw nothing on the t.v. screen no matter what I did :/ A technician at my local Best Buy store said that he thought the problem is that HDMI uses a digital signal/connection and RCA jacks use an analog connection/signal format, so without a fairly complex and likely expensive converter the two formats wouldn't be compatible. Apparently these type of inexpensive converters are just a scam/rip off and would/could never work. You would be better off purchasing a more expensive/reputable unit - or just buying a newer T.V.
