It comes in several pieces, so it can be broken down and easily transported. Or, if you don't want to take it apart every time, it's not bulky and fairly light and can be moved around as one unit. It's much easier to carry around than individual stand as well, which is nice. The arms were a little difficult to move at first, but it's gotten better the more I've used it.It's very sturdy, and has never tipped over on me even though I've loaded it up with a tenor sax, alto sax, soprano sax, and a clarinet.
