There are different types of Dual Lock, allowing a person to mix and match types allowing for different amounts of adhesion between two devices. As an example, you may want less adhesion for a removable TV remote control mounted to a wall, vs mounting a IP-TV permanently to a surface behind the display. This is doble by mixing and matching Dual Lock products. **Q: Does the adhesive get soft when it warms? I want to use in a window to hang foil/foam insulation. Hook/loop adhesives tend to let go when sun hits it.** A: It will if exposed to direct sunlight. **Q: is thisw waterproof?** A: Hard to say without knowing the intended application. The construction of the hook and loop is entirely plastic so yes there. The adhesive is very strong however I doubt it would withstand constant submersion. If were talking a bit of rain here or there. I'd bet it would last through a season, depending on the application surface. Make sure its clean and dry and kept dry for a few days until it is "set". I’ve used Velcro for years. This is just on a whole other level. The adhesive backing is extremely strong as I’ve removed guitar pedals from my board several times and everything remains attached. Speaking of attached, this stuff is strong. A little goes a long way. You don’t need nearly as much to keep things as attached and stable compared to Velcro. Consider yourself warned because you’ll have a heck of a time trying to remove pedals from your pedal board if you use too much. I’ve used the stuff for so many things around the house and I continue to find uses for it. While it’s not cheap, you won’t be replacing it like you do Velcro.
