And I didn’t want shorty shorts anyway. The outer shorts are comfortably loose, overall the perfect size for me. The inner liner is long and a bit too loose, reaching almost to my knees, so I typically roll up the liners for each leg. They always come undone again but that’s okay, I did buy an XL after all. My takeaway is, large probably would have been fine. The liner has a cellphone pocket which holds the phone well enough. There’s a zipper pocket in the back for keys.
