It's very difficult if not impossible to find an N male (threads on inside) bulkhead adapter suitable for creating a secure and/or weatherproof ingress point for an ADS-B receiver box. This lightning arrestor effectively serves that purpose. The N female side is connected to the box, and the N male side points out. I don't need the arresting functionality (entire assembly including antenna is mounted in an attic), but it also doesn't hinder performance at all.
