I looked like the larger box had been tested or used as the bubble wrap was not around the lights was under them. Some water spots on lights and the solar panel lenses scuffed due to the lack of protection allowing them to rub together. I contacted seller and they promptly replaced lights and apologized that this slipped by when shipping the product. The lights themselves are nice and all worked well. I liked the warm white color versus the harsh blue/white of many cheaper LEDs, and they told me the battery will still charge if left in the sun even with the switch off. I take my lights in for the winter so I planned to top up the charge occasionally over the winter by setting outside for a day. Because they are sealed, I want to prolong the battery life.I would recommend these, though I personally would never screw them down permanently to anything since as with any of today's non-serviceable products, I know they are never going to last for more than maybe 3-5 years before LEDs or battery starts to fail. Still these are way nicer than the solar landscape lights I had bought at a big box store before where the battery is removable, yet those contacts rust and glass lenses get full of bugs.
