There’s still a learning curve with these – getting the buttercream frosting the right consistency, applying the proper amount of pressure to the icing bag, and knowing how long to squeeze and how much to “lift” in order to achieve the results I want. But I find that it’s really worth the effort because I can make beautiful flowers with just one stroke, as opposed to building petal by petal with traditional tips.This set includes 8 heavy-duty stainless steel piping tips, and 1 disposable bag. These are all flower tips, which is what I wanted (I already have leaves, swirls, and some other designs). These appear to be high quality and built to last. This set doesn’t come with a coupler, and a standard coupler is too small for the Russian tips. You can use the tips directly in the icing bag, but I do recommend picking up a coupler for ease in switching out your tips. The only style of coupler that I can find for the Russian tips is the tri-color coupler that you can buy here on Amazon. I’m not a fan of the tri-color coupler, but I prefer it to not using any coupler at all.I did a lot of research on these tips before diving in, and pretty much everyone recommends that you use a buttercream frosting.
