Its got 3 buttons very simple to use. Esspresso lungo and cappacino/latte button. **Q: What temperature does the milk steamer reach inside the machine?** A: Not sure. The milk is not hot enough for me when it comes out and the coffee is added. I put the completed drink in the microwave for 30 seconds, so that it is hot enough. Overall, the machine is great. **Q: Can you brew just coffee in this machine as well?** A: Yes - LUNGO is nespresso’s “just coffee” I’ve had a nespresso for years and we brew a lungo and add cream sugar just like a French press or any other coffee you would normally brew. Unboxed and tried per instructions for the “best froth” use skim milk. This worked a couple of times and the machine stopped frothing. Read, Researched and then called customer svce. Big mistake. She kept asking if we have an account. I advised we just received it. She said to set up account So we did. Waste of time and I spent the next 40 minutes w her trouble shooting only to have her tell me I’m using the wrong milk and I can only use whole milk? She said “our site states this”? Bye the way it doesn’t. I searched and also advised her page 17 specifically states “for the best froth use skim milk”. She said “well that’s wrong”? Anyway. This went on for 40 min until I hung up frustrated.After researching more my wife (yes she’s smarter than me) found more info on line about the same issue. The froth stops working if not using whole milk.Update - we did try the whole milk and it works.Love the machine. Great coffee but if you want to use anything other than whole milk it’s not for you. We tried 2% and skim as well.
