## Description

In-ear monitor belt-pack for personal monitor applications.

Review: This is a passive attenuator device. - I've purchased a couple of these and the finish and knob is a bit nicer than the very similar Elite Core version. I'm a career audio engineer and these are part of my rehearsals rig. I'm working with top session players in LA. For stage and TV performances, usually wireless IEM systems are usually rented. For long rehearsal days where everyone is mostly stationary on stage, the musicians enjoy highest quality signal and no drop-outs and interference (just a wire, no RF) and no battery level to worry about. At a tiny fraction of the cost of a quality wireless system. The locking XLR connection does its job and does not come unplugged accidentally. Every review here (good or bad) that states that it's mono, or too quiet for loud band use, is fundamentally misinformed on the connections and intended use of this device. You need to feed it with a headphone amplifier, could be the one on your mixer, or outboard. Turn the amplifier to max (or as loud as you could possibly want it) and the volume knob on the pack attenuates (turns it down) to desired level. It can be - and is only - as loud, powerful and high quality as the amplifier you power it with. The XLR input is confusing to many as well. Typical usage for an XLR mic/line signal is balanced mono, but not with these. The signal for these (and any headphone) is unbalanced stereo. This means Pin 1-Ground, Pin 2-Left, Pin 3-Right. From a standard headphone jack, this is achieved with a TRS to XLR-M adaptor. Like this one https://www.desertcart.com/dp/B083R4CDT2/
Review: Praise Band IEM - Our praise band uses 8 of these from a Behringer x32 and they work great! We do go direct-in with all instruments including electric drums so we don’t have to play extremely loud, BUT they still have plenty of volume with a decent set of isolating in-ears. Lots of people giving it bad reviews because they didn’t know or understand what the product was before purchasing. They are not powered so if your playing drums in a metal band then maybe these wont work for you? I will say they are still loud enough that people in the front row have said they can hear the click track from our ears on stage... that’s loud. If you get a good mix from the board and you’re a decent musician then you won’t have anything to complain about. I mean it’s an XLR to headphone adaptor with a volume knob, it’s sturdy and does it’s job. 5 stars.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can i use it directly from the xlr bus output of a behringer xr18/16 for stereo iem?**
A: You won't get stereo, only mono. As said elsewhere here, you need the P1 for that, but...I use this on my Behringer X-32 rack mount system as a mono IEM. It works fine for that and is a lot less expensive. (I play live all over and I rarely see anyone using stereo in-ears. Are you sure you need that?) I plug this into a bus output on my X-32, set all the input channels on that monitor bus the way I want them and have control over the mix that way. I do have the bus output up a little higher to the PM1 than to the P1's I also have in my studio, but I have plenty of gain from the monitor bus output to drive this passive PM1, in fact, it's nowhere near maxed out. You won't get stereo, but you will get a full mono mix to both ears.

**Q: Does it work?**
A: It works great. It's really just an adapter to turn an XLR input into a 1/8-inch mono jack for your in-ears, with a volume control (actually a volume attenuator, as it is a passive unit). My whole band uses them at practices and the bassist also uses his live.

The 1/8-inch jack is for you stereo ear buds, and it sends a mono signal equally to both ears. Very simple, but solves a ton of.problems.

**Q: Does this come with an amp cord to plug into the main mix?**
A: no cords come with it. and you will need to run this to a headphone amp not straight to the board. berhinger makes a powered version that you can run straight from the board though. i think its called the p2

**Q: Would this work as a personal accoustic guitar monitor when playing on stage with other instruments so I can hear myself?**
A: Well I never used for a guitar, only on Vocals. But should works well. It's very good designed and built. And for the price... It's great!
