Review: Franklin glove is great value - Exactly what I wanted, color and style. I didn't need an expensive glove. I needed a second glove to make it easier to talk people into a little catch. This glove is perfectly fine for general yard catch or a recreational game with friends. I've had my other glove almost 25 years and it is in great shape but the inner lining is flaking/desintergrating very badly. I just wanted this and am very pleased. I was able to open and close it fairly easy right away. It is indeed easy to use immediately. No break in time...no oiling. It has a decent feel to it. If I had touched it before buying I really might have thought it is leather. The material is much better than I expected. I assume if a person is against leather this would be CLOSE to a vegan product as possible. I'm pretty sure it is all a type of pleather. I've never had a non leather glove and was interested. I just liked how it looked and it suits my needs and was inexpensive. I could have gotten a "better quality" USED glove but I would rather have new and decent than something sweaty, dry rotted and or stinky. No need for that when this is perfectly good. Even great. This glove has NO odor at all that I can tell. You won't get the leather glove smell of course...but there is no strange odor either. Comfortable, functional, great looking and super affordable. Don’t need anything fancy just a basic glove that fits.** A: It’s really not a matter of the size of your hand as it is what the glove is for. (The exception being the 10” glove, which is for kids.) An infielder is going to use a smaller 11-11.5” glove because it’s easier to get it from the mitt and into their hand to make a quicker throw. But if you’re playing catch with your kid, that isn’t a factor. Most gloves are 12” and it’ll work fine for pretty much anything unless your hand is either really small or really big. **Q: How Do You Soften This?** A: The old way was to put 3 balls in the pocket, use a rope to secure it and dunk it in a bucket of water overnight. Let it dry for a few days then use shave cream with Lanolin in it and slather it on liberally.
