Also that it is certified FIPS 140-2, Level 3.Basically your data hides behind a user created 7-15 digit PIN that will allow the drive to activate. If you plug the drive in without the correct PIN, it will not be visible nor will it work. There is a small rechargeable power cell in the USB drive that keeps the drive PIN system working, it is constantly recharged overtime you use the drive, if the battery dies between uses, it will need to be recharged for a few minutes prior to working. If you forget your PIN you can reformat the drive and start over, but your data is lost. If you enter the PIN incorrectly too many times, your data will be lost.Hope it helps. **Q: Is this drive compatible with Windows 10?** A: Yes, it is. **Q: Can files be encrypted so in case you accidently leave your drive in no one can get to them?** A: No. If you leave the drive in your computer unlocked, it will be mounted with no timeout. If you pull it from your computer, it instantly locks. Once you unlock the drive (when not plugged into the computer) it stays unlocked for 30 seconds, waiting for you to insert it into a computer. If you don't, it locks after 30 seconds.
