As I was unboxing I accidentally sliced my finger; although slightly painful, it was a good sign the blade was sharp. The plastic cover was easy to remove, again, due to a sharp blade. Once unpackaged the blade is very shiny and pristine. The handle as well; it was shiny and looked like woodgrain vehicle interior.The first cut. I first used this knife right out of the plastic to cut vegetables. I tend to sharpen my knives before cutting vegetables so I can gauge how sharp the knife really is. It cut through onion like butter, I barely teared. The handle and blade felt solid and secure, even when choking up on the handle a bit.After a few days of use and a few slices to paper to gauge sharpness, the knife still held its own. Like any other knife, after a few days of use, the knife will begin to dull to some extent. I sharpened the knife with my two stage sharpener; this brought the knife back to a buttery-like slice. However, the knife was definitely not as sharp as it was out of the box, even right after being sharpened.I would recommend this knife to anyone who has an original kitchen set chef's knife and is ready to take culinary to the next level. This is a great beginners chef's knife, especially for the price. Although I haven't used the knife for that long, and I do care for the knife, I haven't seen any stains or signs of rust. It is very solid and sharp! It makes my cutting easier than ever. I am very excited to leave feedback on these knives! I have taken adequate time to get familiarized with this manufacturer and I have been using and loving their products. The quality of the product, price, speed of delivery and attentiveness of the seller are all outstanding. I must start by telling you that I was NOT paid to write this review and that I have purchased the full set of these knives at full price. I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. At this point I own the entire set and I have purchased multiples of the serrated 8” utility because it is the best feeling steak knife I’ve ever put my hands on. Awesome job, this is now the best kitchen knife out of my quite considerable collection.Knife steel is not quite as pretty as the one pictured, but overall a wonderful blade. I'm very happy with it. It's beautifully weighted and feels great in the hand. Makes short work of whatever food gets in it's way. I haven't had it long enough to testify to how long it well keep it's edge, but I have a feeling it will hold up very well.It's really hard for me to describe my feelings about this knife. I'm a person who really enjoys using good knives and do not like the feel of cheap knives. However I have never owned, not seen a steel knife in person. The quality of this knife absolutely takes my breath away. I am in love with this knife.First of all it is beautiful. Obviously. I couldn't tell from the photos but the marbling pattern on the blade is actually carried through to the handle as well. Before now I had always thought a good knife was more about the blade, but this knife blows me away because of the comfort of the handle. It actually feels warm in my hand. The balance is so perfect that I can open my hand while using the knife and it stays in the palm of my hand. It is perfect. I don't know how else to accurately describe the handle except to say it is unlike any other knife that I own. And I own a few high end knives that came with a lifetime warranty and are a joy to use. But they don't come close to this. It feels like it was made for my hand.The blade is sharp and perfect. It slices beautifully through every different thing I've tried it on so far. I am tempted to try and figure out how to upload a video because I feel like the sound it makes when slicing is so perfect that maybe that could give you a better idea, but I can't figure out how to shoot a video and wield the knife at the same time. Anyway, the blade is sharp and beautiful and perfect. I haven't found anything it doesn't handle with ease.
