I believe this may have been designed to fit under a table with an umbrella post going through the table for additional support This works well for my stand-alone umbrella, as well. It held up well in a strong breeze. This base is made from cast concrete so it is super fragile. It will be OK as long as you do not drop it or bump it against hard objects. That being said I have saved the broken Corner and will try to piece it back together somehow.
