**Q: how long is the strap? long enough for cross-body wear?**
A: Yes.  I think it is about 50-52" long.  It is long enough that the purse will be hip length on me without extending it all the way and I'm 5'8."

**Q: what is this bag made of?  is it soft?**
A: the bag is a cotton fabric. it is soft but not flimsy. I receive many compliments when I carry the bag. it is a very attractive bag
 it will not hold a lot of junk, but will hold the necessities. I think you will like the bag. It is a good buy

**Q: What is the depth of this purse?**
A: I don't have it here now but it is a great purse about 7-9 inches deep (maybe a little more). Sorry could not be more helpful

**Q: Will an ipad fit inside?**
A: The tote is only 9 1/2" by 9 1/2" .  My wife's surface will not fit but an I-pad might if it is equal to or smaller than these dimensions.
