Than, she informed me that it was a mandoline, not a mandolin. Knowing nothing about kitchen devices, I didn't have a clue as to what she was talking about.Well, now that the mandoline has arrived, and she's demonstrated its use to me, I fully understand why she purchased it. It comes with a glove, so as not to cut yourself. As far as cutting vegetables, however, she couldn't be more than happy. While it's not an item that I'll ever use, my wife is totally happy with the way it works, plus I get the benefit of enjoying nicely sliced vegetables. This is my first personal mandolin and I am a huge fan. I didnt need some huge contraption that would take a whole cabinet to store, so this is perfect. My only criticism is that the spare blades don't lock in to the storage container.
