Unfortunately it uses the type of drawstring which only allows about 1/4 inch of adjustment by pulling to tabs in the front together. Lo and behold, when they arrived I saw that they are in fact not similar but the actual BNB Gear board shorts. Since then, I've bought a whole bunch more in black, gray, white, and red and in M, L, and XL sizes in anticipation of possible future waist changes (LOL). These shorts look sexy, feel comfortable, are hard working and long lasting, and are very practical with two hand pockets and two thigh pockets. I wear them almost every single day to the gym. Also great for the beach and just for running errands in casual wear. I made this mistake and ordered a 2X pair the first go around, when the shorts arrived they were a size 38 waist when i was expecting a 44-46. Not the shorts makers fault. Go to the SAKKAS website to find out your actual size, I returned them no muss no fuss, got my refund and simply reordered them in the size that SAKKAS had on their fit chart and they are perfect. The size fits great. Now onto the shorts themselves, they are great, love the material and love that they have big pockets on them. The material is soft on the outside and for the most part the mesh iside is soft too, they feel well made and for $16.99 they're a good deal.
