When I wear this, the pain almost goes away within the day. The only pain I have left is if I press around on it with the other hand, looking for sore spots. If I wear it for 2 solid days, even that pain is diminished so much I'm not even sure it's there. I'm wearing it either slightly forward or slightly backward of that joint, not all the way on the thumb. Because of that and its size, it does get in the way of some things so I take it off. Within a couple of days, it starts hurting again. Rinse, repeat. The magnets in these wearable items are not strong. They're small and weak with a very small effective field. That's ok because I don't want a wrist or my thumb getting stuck or picking up things. Still, it does come with the usual warnings for a magnet, not to use if you have any implanted medical device, etc. That should be expected. It's quite wide. I think it looks kind of odd as a solid band so I chose to wear it with the open end on top. It's not quite so in-your-face. The finish is a nice brushed nickel but again, since it's wide, it gets scratched easily and wearing it this way hides that. I do like the fit and finish of this ring, and even through a month of hand washing I have had no skin discoloration or rubbing off of the finish, like I usually have with cheap metals. The fake stones are very rough, that might bother some people, but it kind of makes it into a fidget ring.
