What is it for?** A: The green sleeve? I've used it as a tissue holder. I believe that is what it is intended for. **Q: How is the showthrough/ghosting?** A: I also use the pen that comes with it. First of all is the paper quality. I can use fountain pens with no bleed through at all. Plus, because the paper is nice and thin, it takes up less room in the planner. Smaller footprint. Secondly, because the paper is thin, it makes the A5 planner very compact and lightweight. Easy to carry around, and it hardly weighs anything, and takes hardly any room in your purse. Thirdly, each day has a full page to not only keep a timed schedule, but lots of room to list some tasks for the day, and plenty of room left over for journaling or doodling, writing important pertinent information of the day, or drawing....whatever you want it for. You could also use the extra room for tracking. (Money, water, exercise, food diary expenses, or whatever). The end of the planner includes room for contacts, several blank grid pages. I'm really a paper snob, and so I really love the paper quality. The thin paper is very strong and takes liquid (rather than gel or dry ballpoint ink) very well, without feathering. If you press too hard it can bleed through to the next page, and even with relatively light pressure the next page gets slightly embossed but this is rather nice in a tactile way. If you're buying this you're probably a stationery lover and will like that. Also I found the page setup -- timeline in upper left, check boxes in upper right, and a free grid for the rest of the page -- to be very flexible and useful. If you don't have small handwriting, you won't be fitting a detailed calendar here but it's great for reminding yourself of the highlights.
