It almost started on fire when I turned it on a few weeks ago. It made a strange noise and started smoking. Nothing was inside the towel warmer at the time. I immediately turned it off and unplugged it.Also, in the 6 months that I’ve been using the warmer, I feel that it made the towels too hot. It also emitted a strange odor when it was turned on. It smelled kinda fishy with an electrical smell, if that makes any sense.
