They are an overlapping type of plug; meaning the plugs will fit with any other plug in the kit as long as they are rotated 180 degrees from each other. Furthermore This allows for very unique connections as black and red plugs can attach to each other from any 4 sides. So you can have a horizontally placed red plug with a black plug that plugs in sideways. Or a red plug upside down with a black plug rights side up.... This is exceptionally helpful if multiple multiple hook ups are located next to each other as it gives you many unique combinations to keep you from plugging in the wrong connectors. I have used these connectors for more than15 years....Original called Anderson Powerpole Connectors. These are the longest lasting and most efficient plug I have found so far - more so than deans, TRX, XT, EC3 or any other plug. Also the easiest to pull apart.
