It depends on what side you put your tab that connects it to your item. These are cheap and the color is not good. I actually returned these back after I received them. They won't hold up for purses, but probably do okay for wristlets or keyfobs. **Q: Where are they made?** A: My guess is China. I used them to make wristlet wallets and had quite a few break. **Q: 20mm and 25mm are not both 1". 25mm is an inch. This ad is deceptive, yes?** A: If you measure it on the outside edges then it is 25mm but inside the clasp or D ring edges are only 20 mm . We measured ours when they came .
