**Q: What does the taurine do**
A: Taurine has many physiological functions in the body, but the reason we have added it here is for its function of conjugating bile acids. Taurine favors the conjugation towards water-soluble bile as opposed to fat-soluble bile which is more toxic as well as stone-forming.

**Q: Does anyone have tricks on how to deal with the horrible smell of the supplements? The bottle smells bad just sitting on the counter!**
A: We changed our formula to a form of ox bile salts that is higher in cholic acid than our last one was. Our previous formula was around 45%, give or take. This new source is between 45 and 65%. The advantage of this is that cholic acid is a more water-soluble form than some other fat-soluble ones which are more toxic, relatively speaking. So this is a good thing. Unfortunately it comes with a smell. We are working on a way to reduce or mask the smell, perhaps with different capsules. Until we get it worked out, at least know that you are getting a superior form of bile salts.

**Q: is the product kosher ?**
A: Unfortunately, no. We have been unable to find a kosher or halal supplier for bile salts. However, these bile salts are purified and >40% cholic acid which supports the conversion of bile acids to a more water soluble and less toxic form.

**Q: Why do you have only 110 mg of bile salts per capsule. Isn’t a 500 mg ox bile supplement better?**
A: What I learned was you want to change up the dose periodically.  500 mg may be too much.

All the capsules are rotten or have gotten bad. they are dark black in colour and look exposed to moisture and sunlight. the bottles were sealed when they arrived, and both the batches turned out to be spoiled. I had my gallbladder removed in 2000. I had no idea just how important the bile produced was to our bodies functions, I was told before, and after, the surgery that nothing would change. However the first thing I noticed was my sudden intense dislike for anything that tasted the slightest bit greasy. While I know that's good from a cholesterol standpoint, it meant even the slightest grease/fat taste on something was very distasteful to me. While I'd never been a big fast food eater, nor did I deep fry anything at home, I was surprised to see that even low fat foods affected how I began to chose my meals. Then the constipation began. While I do work with a pain management dr. due to multiple back and neck fusions, and those medications can cause constipation, my issue was over the top. For years I've battled constipation, attributing it to probably having IBS and the pain meds. in my system, so when I saw a video on youtube about the need to give your body bile salts if you've had your gallbladder removed, I was instantly interested. So I bought this bottle and for the past 3 weeks I've been using it. It doesn't have any smell (I read some review complaints about that), and the capsules are small. I've taken 1 to 3 at a time, with and without food, for three weeks now. It could be that because I've had constipation for so long that it's taken a while to change my system, but today I finally had a nice normal bowel movement with no pain or strain. I'm going to continue to take this bottle and will be ordering a second bottle as the joy of having a normal bowel movement is wonderful. For those who've had their gallbladder removed, really struggle with constipation and have tried all methods of dealing with it (enemas, diet changes, drinking tons of water, etc.), I suggest you give these a try. I'm not a medical dr., so I can't endorse these from a professional standpoint. I am simply a layperson who's been looking high and low for help, and I'm hoping that I've finally found the answer to my issue and can return to eating foods I've had to give up.
