Sometimes it's hard to hold Vampliers and turn them at the same time. So the kind staff at Vampliers made this locking model. Wow it's great. Vampliers are expensive. They are very very worth the cost. The day or night may come when you kiss your Vampliers...when everything else has failed you. Vampliers are one more, one extra, one last option to save you from failure, and give you success when you need them the most. I'm a US Marine, when everything else has failed...we still have a knife and an entrenching tool. I bought one Vampliers model, and it saved a project. Then I bought all their models. **Q: How does one "lock the jaws to click" - the statement makes no sense as written?**
A: These pliers function in the same way as other types of locking pliers or vise grips.  The jaws are set with the adjusting knob so the handles can be squeezed closed, at which point they click, locking the pliers to the work piece.

I wasn't sure how this tool would do since it was a very large stripped screw that I needed to take out. I have trouble with my hands so the locking feature was a huge help. I definitely would not hesitate to recommend these pliers to anyone. Easy to use and they get the job done with minimal effort. Worth it.
