Conceals nicely. Binds up so I can't draw. Yikes. *by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2016* I wanted to like this holster. I really did.I bought this for a CCW class. It arrived with a week to spare (as planned), so I had some time to break the leather in and get used to the feeling of wearing it.The belt hooks are very firm (which is good). With a 1.5" belt, there is a bit of gap, but that's not unusual (the hooks are designed for 2", as is standard). There is enough space between the hooks and the rivets holding the Kydex for comfortable flex of the leather to conform to your hip. The leather is thick and rises enough to protect your skin from raking against the slide as you draw.The pistol (Steyr M-A1 series) snaps nicely into Kydex shell -- while advertised exclusively for the M9-A1, it also fits the M40-A1 (I own both). The Kydex itself is thick enough to maintain its form pretty well, even with the pressure of a belt against the empty hull with the pistol drawn.Now here's the problem. If you don't draw the gun *exactly* parallel to the barrel, it binds. I'm not talking "a little snag that you have to give it a tug", I'm talking bound up to where I could not draw with all my strength.I thought it was the angle of the belt hooks. They're adjustable, so I played with different tilt angles. If I was slow and focused, I could draw, of course. Try and hurry, and it's a 50/50 chance of binding.I tried holding it up to the light and looking through the holster while inserting/removing the pistol at different angles to see what was happening -- it's not catching on a protrusion, for example, the front sights; it's catching geometrically. Anything but straight out, and it's just wedged.I experimented with how much pressure it would take to pull it out -- I was actually hoping to accelerate "wear" and bulge out whatever spot needed to be bulged out to not bind. I COULD NOT pull the gun out at a slight angle, even holding the holster and pistol in front of me and trying to pull them apart *as hard as I could*. I am a strong, 6'2", 225 lb guy. That Kydex is STRONG.I convinced my sister (who is a firefighter, not some dainty waif) to tug-of-war with me (obviously quadruple-checked empty pistol) -- absolutely not the slightest budge. But if you slowly and carefully pull the gun straight out (parallel to the barrel), it'll pop right out.It's quite clear that this would be beyond dangerous in a real life situation (not to mention the short-term issue of just being awkward and embarrassing in CCW class).SO, conclusion: emergency order an  Outlaw Holsters NT Hybrid IWB (Right-Hand, STEYR M9-A1) .
