Although the finely tuned ingredients of the Moscow Mule recipe are certainly appealing, the true signature of this mixed drink is the copper mug. Since Moscow Mules first appeared in the 1940s, copper mugs have been essential for proper presentation. But is copper really better? For some traditionalists, even asking the question, “Why is a moscow mule served in a copper mug?” is blasphemous, since decades of ceremony insist that they be used. Yet, for the discerning drinker, it’s important to know the facts.Scientists measured the number of harmful microbes found in the water before it was placed in copper, then again 16 hours later, after it had been placed in copper. They found that the level of harmful microbes was greatly reduced just because of the simple fact that the water was in the copper. The packaging was great with the item being totally wrapped in paper to avoid any scratches to the beautiful copper finish. This folks is the real deal! ALL the way through this product is solid copper and looks beautiful as well. There is quality workmanship along with quality materials to produce a product that is worth the money. Now since it is PURE COPPER, it needs to be treated with respect and washed by hand. Liquids should also not be left inside for extended periods of time or you will risk staining or ruining the look of the copper. Also, they should never be put in the microwave. These are meant more for cold liquids than hot and they will last a life time if you treat them the way they need to be treated. The Moscow mules that result when using the pure copper is incredible! The flavor is not effected at all and it makes for a very enjoyable drink! The properties of the copper keep your drink cold for hours!
