Which is it?** A: It was confusing to me as well. However my purchase had the vertical float in the box. I had to attach it though. No big task **Q: Can this be used as a utility pump?** A: Sure It's more powerful than a standard utility pump and would require an adapter to neck it down from 1-1/2/1-1/4" to 3 /4" garden hose thread but it will work provided there isn't much of sand in the water should only be used with clear water and would have to manually activate float switch by hand if the water is not deep enough to activate float In addition, this pump will only pickup water approximately 1" off floor whereas a utility pump can typically pickup down to 1 /4" , or le ss, off floor This pump should not be fun dry - water must be in intake at all times when running **Q: What size basin will this fit in?** A: If you secure it so that vibration does not move it around, it should work fine in a 12" diameter basin. I have it in a larger one (15"). If the float touches the side, you are obviously in trouble. **Q: can I use this with RO water?** A: Hi Wayne,The thermoplastic pump will work better in this application than a cast iron one. Works well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Back pressure *by H***O on Reviewed in Canada on 7 July 2024* Worked perfectly but only one thing the check valve not technology therefore the water pressure comeback hard and dammage the adapter connector, if you open a little bit hole still not comfortable of flowing you must make a room for discharge from back pressions the motor worked well , thank seller ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Way better than my old one *by T***. on Reviewed in the United States on 14 April 2024* I had about a 3 year old pump that would take forever to get the water out of my basement. This one is so powerful it blew straight through the clamps I put on it lol. It was a total pain in my butt but I ended up putting 4 clamps on it and an adhesive, clamps were put on extra extra tight and now it’s perfect. It cleared me fully filled basement in about 2 minutes or less. It looks pretty durable, it’s super quiet compared to my old one that would come on and sound like someone was on a forklift in the basement. highly recommend this pump for anyone who are scared to pull the trigger on one.
