I would have just used my old metal chain but the clutch doesn't come apart like my existing (where you just remove a screw). I didn't want to mess around with it so I cut the plastic chain and took just the connector from my old chain. Luckily it fit. I also had a cord guide but it had been broken before and I would have like a new one! Review: Not all pieces included in package - Package did not include end plug. Not useable without this piece. How far do these stick out? I need just the wall brackets cant exceed 3inches.** A: Here goes: from the center of your roll to the back edge of the bracket, the distance is 1 1/4". Remember, the 6' or however long a shade you need can become quite thick when the roller is all the way to the top of the window. I'm using SunShield cloth which is quite a bit thicker than say a paper shade, but I've got my shade bracket installed all the way to the back of the window frame, and there's plenty of room for the fabric. The front edge of the bracket itself is still about an inch + from the front edge of the window frame. (My frames are 4.5" deep.) In other words, the roller, shade, and bracket are completely inside the window frame, outside moldings are fully exposed. Good luck!
