You lay flat on the ground for at least a minute and a half, allowing your spine to align and straighten, pull your heels as close to your butt As you can. Then, you place the device down on your hips and press slowly But very hard and hold for about thirty seconds, then slowly release. Then, lay flat again for about a minute.Letting your spine realign, and repeat. I have fought back pain of the lower back since a weightlifting injury. This relieved pressure and pain almost instantly. My girlfriend was unable to push with enough strength to feel what I was feeling. So if you plan to buy this and just know that it does take quite a bit of effort to push and hold.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Solid product, but not shipped well

My Physical Therapist suggested getting a Lumbar traction stretcher, as it was similar to a tool she uses at sessions. I find the price a little high for how simple it is, but I appreciate that there are CDs with additional stretches. I feel the decompression, so I believe this does what it claims. However, I docked two stars because of how unappealing it was to receive the product. There was no padding, so the fact the CDs don’t have scratches is a miracle. The pads look used and a sticker of some sort is coming off. I purchased NEW, so I’m not sure why it would look like this. It is easy to use. There is no way to adjust the device itself - it’s one solid piece. The pads make it relatively comfortable; if you push at an angle, you will get the hard steel digging into your thigh. I’ve only used it twice, but I do believe this will help relieve the pain.
