Using "big bite" fish food.** A: I use the multi species and catfish food in mine and it feeds great. Products like this make Amazon look bad ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great bird feeder for snowbirds ! *by J***E on 3 April 2022* We vacationed in FL from New England for a full month in our new RV this year, but felt awful about leaving our feathered friends without food in the winter. We bought this feeder just before we left, and couldn't be happier. We filled it with 50+ lbs of sunflower hearts, anchored the feet with cinder blocks and rebar to withstand the wind and set the timer for 2x per day. Upon our return the feeder was just about empty, but clearly did its job. We've refilled and adjusted the timer for spring feeding, but LOVE it ! The batteries we put in in January are still working in April, despite the cold. The directional feeding is great, since we have hawks in the area and prefer to keep the seed under the tree canopy. The sprayer doesn't spray far, but the birds and squirrels could care less. I highly recommend for this purpose.
