As you might expect some water got on it at some point during the turning of it. Yesterday I went to turn it and noticed rust and a couple of small black spots where the magnet had been. I looked at the back of the magnet and saw that it appears to be muddled and is indeed starting to rust. I was able to get the rust off with Barkeepers Friend, but I now have a few small black spots where it appears that the magnet wore the stainless steel off.
