I did an overnight scalp oil treatment first, and the next morning I washed my scalp with this shampoo three times (because of the oil + buildup). I’m honestly impressed — it removed the sebum better than other shampoos I’ve tried, even after oiling. My scalp finally felt truly clean. For reference, I have very thick, long curly hair (3C–4A) with mixed curl patterns and some heat damage from mid-length to ends, so I’m careful with anything “clarifying.” Surprisingly, this shampoo cleaned extremely well without making my hair feel overly stripped, especially when paired with the Kristin Ess Fragrance Free Shine Enhancing Conditioner. I also love that it’s fragrance-free (a must for me), and the formula is vegan, paraben-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free, and silicone-free.
