I was looking for some kid/stain-proof fabric to redo our kitchen bar stools, but didn't want to spend much, as I knew I would probably be changing them again in a couple of years. When I first opened the package, it had a distinct odor (like spoiled milk or something?). I was very worried that I wouldn't be able to get the smell to go away. Aired the fabric out for a few days, and that didn't do the trick. So I draped it over my patio chairs for a day in the sun. That sort of helped, but not entirely. After two more days in the sun and breeze, the odor was completely gone. So if you experience this same issue, you don't have to return the fabric. Just be patient. (I took of one star for this issue though, as it delayed my project by several days.) This is a thick fabric, but was fairly easy to work with in the reupholstering project. And now that it's on the chairs, it is a very nice durable fabric, and it looks good too.
