Review: Installation bolts too short - I bought this windlass to replace an old Simpson-Lawrence windlass on my 1984 Albin 27FC trawler. Fortunately, of the five holes necessary (i.e., chain, wires, 3 mounting bolts), I was able to use three of the old ones. Unfortunately, the trawler had a 1/4 inch mounting plate inside the hull and the mounting bolts were just that much too short. Also, the paper template (for drilling holes) supplied with the windlass unit did not match the unit's configuration; the actual gasket was correct and useful for drilling the holes.
