It is definitely quieter than the factory foam. The packing was less than ideal, though. It was folded and crushed into a box. This stretched and deformed sections of the pad. I was able to work around it due to the size of the cowl, but if I were working on something larger, it would have been a problem. The self adhesive is good, but I used contact cement anyway, and that made this padding basically unremovable. In summary - the material is quite good, the seller - not so much.
