This is described as a four pound hammer. It is a three pound hammer and even though the quality is good it is too small for my purpose. Had to order another (hopefully) four pound!

Last time I had one of these (not necessarily the same manufacturer) the handle began to pull out. Only half an inch, or so, but when the head began to wobble it was deemed unsafe to use. I use this one to pound small wedges into firewood logs that are difficult to split with a maul or ax. So far it's been behaving well, but Amazon asks for a review too quickly. But for now, this is a fine product.
