Review: Works as well or better than expected - I used this type, the Polarshine 35. It is supposed to be the more coarse version. I wanted this to shine up my fixtures and tub. After so many years, the tub had a discoloration that would never clean. The faucet was also badly covered in water stains and likely lime. I used this and an orbital buffer that I bought here as well that works on dewalt 20v batteries, and went to town on the bad stains. 20+ years of stains were probably 95% gone. I could probably do more given some additional time, but the results were extremely impressive. I have rental properties as well and I will be using this in the future. What a super product. No scratches or dulling of the surfaces. In fact the chrome looked brand new again. I also used Polarshine 10...another amazing result. I had a tenant window which was somehow etched by a liquid. Used this because it has a fine polish finish. Although it took me a short while, I was able to get rid of probably 80% of the dulled glass. I might have been better off using Polarshine 35 first or entirely, but I didn't have it at the time. I have been using the Mirka sanding system for several months. Part of the system utilizes the Polarshine compound to complete the clear coat finishing process. I use 800 or 1000 grit sanding paper with my Mirka sander to prep the surface prior to application of the Polarshine Compound. You may know that Polarshine offers a whole array of polishes that run from course PC35 to Ultra Fine FC5. Depending on how much time, effort and money you want to invest and the level of shine you want to gain, it will establish how you proceed. I build cabinets and seek to gain a finish that will show off the woods grain without a truly gloss finish. I spray water based satin poly. Prep the surface with 800 or 1000 grit sand paper. I progressively use PC35, PC10 and FC5 to buff the surface. I apply small dabs of the Polarshine Compound to a 7" wool buffing pad. I spread the compound on the wood surface before I turn on my electric polisher (this avoids spraying and waste). I dedicate a wool buffing pad for each Polarshine compound to avoid contamination of varying grit levels. I use a microfiber cleaning cloth between application to remove residue. I have been thrilled with the results of the Polarshine compounds. PS: if you are in search a piano top finish, you may want to go all of the way to the Ultra Fine compound and use polishing pads. Amazon sells the TCP Global Ultimate Buffing and Polishing Kit that will give you all of the pads necessary for the most discerning polishing job. **Q: Why is it so expensive?** A: A little goes a long way.
