I can't remember if it needs battery positive, or ground to reset. **Q: Is this Waterproof** A: Yes it is. We have it mounted in a control panel on paving machine which is exposed to weather. **Q: what is the maximum allowable amperes?** A: Not sure the max amperage, but I installed it on a Toro zero turn lawnmower (12V Neg ground) with no issues. Thanks, I just ordered 4 more ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very easy install. exactly what I wanted. *by J***N on February 13, 2023* It is exactly as described. ### ⭐ Bought 2....both junk *by S***G on March 12, 2021* I bench tested this and it began to blink as if it were working. I cut a hole to install in a mower that wouldn't be used until spring. I bought another meter for a different piece of equipment. When I went to use the mower the meter flashed as if it were working but the after two plus hours of mowing the display still showed 0.0 hours. Fortunately I had the 2nd one I bought for the generator. That one worked okay for one mowing. The display did not come on so I thought maybe a wire came loose. No such luck. I removed it and bench tested it. Dead altogether. I've exceeded the time frame to return it so I'm stuck with it.
