Heats up fairly quickly but doesn't draw so much current that it trips our 20 amp breakers during use. We ordered this little guy for our patio kitchen that has run for ages on a standard propane camp stove. We got tired of changing out bottles and dealing with the variable heat that camp stoves are famous for. The infinitely adjustable temperature knobs let us handle everything from pancakes to stir fry and cooking large pots of beans, etc. This little thing does it all with no fuss. The solid burners are wonderful. Stuff can't drop down under them. The heat is not perfectly distributed. Each burner has a hot spot in the upper edge, but letting it heat up for a few minutes before use takes care of that. With both burners running flat out it draws 1500 watts, which is about 12.5 amps, so it works fine on a 20 amp circuit. We've run this thing for hours on end with no problem. And all of that at a great price point. We paid for it the first time we didn't have to hook up a new propane bottle. Treat it just like any other appliance. **Q: Is the large burner 900 or 1000 watts?** A: One burner is 600 & the larger is 900 **Q: Does the bottom of this hot plate get hot?** A: It does a little, will not get hot enough to hurt a countertop. I put piece of aluminum foil under it to just keep counter clean. **Q: The one side of the burner broke after 3 months. ,if i sent in the one that broke and get a new one ?** A: no sure what you are asking. if one of the burners is not working, I would contact the seller to see if they will replace the entire unit.
