Take both molex and sata drives and actually reads the older molecules drives. I have three others of different brands and none would read the molex. One thing though, the sata ribbon connector is a bit bulky, it's hard to close the case with a sata drive cause the ribbon binds at the top of the case. The build is somewhat cheap, but it works for us. Bear in mind, on an older hard drive with a USB 2.0 connection, the process is the little slow. That being said, it got the job done. There are not a lot of economical choices for accessing old drives and it was good to find something we could use. I had to open the disk drive end of the power cable and reconnect it.
