The bracelet can stretch out to fit large wrists or ankles, but I like mine somewhat tight. Once I have the bracelet tightened the way I want, I tie a knot in each strand and then cut off the excess length, right before the knot. That said, I don't take the bracelet off until it falls off, which takes quite a long time! These are really comfortable and well made, and the price is unbeatable. I really love these bracelets, and would recommend them highly.
