## Description

Original Game Play. Ages 8 and Up. 2-8 Players. Game board. Bankers tray. Money pad. Chance & Community Chest Cards. Title Deeds. Silver-tone tokens. Houses and hotels. Dice and instructions.

Review: This is very close to being exactly like the Monopoly that I learned to play on, back around ‘88 or so. That game had differently coloured Chance and Community Chest cards, and it had the iron token. Besides those minor differences, this game is the same. The quality here is far superior to the $20ish current game you can buy at a toy store. The board folds in half and lays perfectly flat, as opposed to the cheaper games released recently with boards that fold in quarters. The cards and deeds are printed on nice thick card stock. The included money tray makes the banker’s job very easy. Tokens are metal, and are the classics I remember, like the wheelbarrow. You won’t find any cats or rubber duckies here. I do wish the $500 and $100 bills had a slightly greater colour difference, to make a mixup less likely. And I’d prefer that the Chance and Community Chest cards had markings on the back to indicate which is which. Other than that, I think this is perfect. I paid just under $50 for this and I consider it a worthy investment. I have purchased some classic board games, like Clue, that have been manufactured recently and I can tell you they do not hold up. The boards that fold in quarters tent up in the middle and they break easily with repeated use, and the thin flimsy cards quickly become ragged. The cheap versions have their place. If you aren’t sure you’ll play it much, starting with the recently released Monopoly is reasonable. If you know you’ll be playing this game frequently, though, definitely invest in this one.
Review: I really loved this 1980’s edition of Monopoly—it brings back that traditional feel of the game. What I liked: • Nostalgic design: Feels like the classic version many of us grew up with • Traditional gameplay: Keeps the original charm without unnecessary changes • Great for family time: Perfect for game nights with all ages • Good quality: Board and pieces are well made and hold up well Things to consider: • If you prefer newer versions with twists, this is more classic and straightforward • Games can still run long (just like the original!) Overall: This is a great pick if you enjoy the traditional style of Monopoly. Fun, nostalgic, and perfect for bringing everyone together.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What tokens does this game have?**
A: I's got the thimble, Iron, a shoe, car, hat, battle ship, dog, wheel barrow, rider on a horse

**Q: Is this the Parker Bros. or Hasbro version?**
A: Hasbro bought Parker Brothers in 1991, so the license is from Hasbro, but this is a new version of the classic Monopoly set originally made by Parker Brothers. It's not identical in every way, but it's close. It's made by Winning Moves, which has licensed many Hasbro (i.e. Parker Brothers, Milton Bradley) games and manufactures classic versions. I sell these in my retail store. This is the next best thing to an actual vintage Monopoly game.

**Q: What die cast pieces come with this game?**
A: I was very unhappy to discover that was not, to my mind, the "Classic Edition" at all!! First, it does not even come with the dog! What it does come with is: A lantern, a rocking horse, a cannon, a derby car (not like the original), a thimble, a satchel, an iron, a boot (not like the original), a top-hat (not like the original) , and a battleship. And though you did not ask, I'll throw in the fact that the Title Deeds, Chance, & Community Chest cards are much thinner than original - rather flimsy. This "Classic Edition" is a stinker.

**Q: How many pieces are there?**
A: Enough for 8 to play at one time. Hope this helps.

Not too my liking as the quality of the board is very poorly made.
