In a short field trial they seem to do what they are supposed to do. I hooked up an IP camera over a 6' long piece of coax and could not tell any difference in picture quality versus UTP. The unknown at this point is what will happen with a longer cable run, but I really hope they will perform as well clear across a building as they did on the bench, as I have a lot of old cameras to replace and re-cabling buildings is just not an option.The one thing to be aware of though, is these guys don't support PoE. So, if you are going to use them as a strategy to replace analog cameras with IP you will need to make sure your new IP cameras support operation on an external power source and you will need to leave that existing power source in place. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Little pricey, but they work well. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2017* Have used these in several installations where coax cables were already in place. While the BNC style connector is not optimal for network connectivity, if you wrap the connectors with a little bit of electrical tape, it helps the ground to stay connected. I have used these with cameras at up to 10mbps streams and been quite happy with their solid performance. While I always prefer a fresh CAT-5 or CAT-6 run, sometimes quick and dirty works well. Not the best price, but not bad either. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Must get, even to put in inventory *by R***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2018* This is a great low cost, but effective product. I upgraded my video surveillance system to IP, but four areas had coax cameras and couldn't replace the cable with Cat6, and this product came through. The new IP cameras worked fine, I used the power from the Siamese cable to power up the IP camera and pluged in this device on both ends.
