The length on this one caught my attention, but the lack of reviews made me wonder if I should get this or buy one that had a lot of great reviews. I bought this for my baby who HATES tummy time. I mean really, truly hates tummy time. He struggles with it a bit and most mats made for tummy time are slippery. This, however, he doesn't mind and actually was smiling while laying on it. It gives him something to grip. It's more comforting. It's just easier and less stressful for him. The length is perfect. I had read in one review that it wasn't as long as the person wanted. I wouldn't say that should deter you if you're considering buying it. It's definitely longer than other rugs of this type, but keep in mind this is designed for a baby to use. Your hand isn't supposed to sink into fur up past your wrist. It really doesn't have a smell. I mean, it may smell like faint, clean, wool but that's it. It seems very hygenic. I love that it's machine washable. When he's done with it, it will grace the seat of my computer chair. That's where I keep it now when it isn't tummy time. It's very soft. It's lovely. It will last us for a lot of years to come.
