For example if I turn on one fan will they both come on?** A: My remote would only work if I was within a foot of the fan, so I doubt it. Also the fan is kinda junk, spend a few more dollars and get a good one **Q: What is the smallest thickness roof this can be mounted into?** A: The minimum roof thickness that the RVLOVENT Vent Roof Vent can be installed on is 1-3/5". What if the roof thickness is less than the minimum installation size? However if you have a hack saw you can cut a little inch off all the way around to make it fit. That's what some customers did. Just make sure you use a ruler to make straight lines all the way around and Measure it twice before cutting. If you cut too much off the sides of the enclosure will have a gap and it will look ugly. It will still work because the top part with the fan is what seals on top off the roof so it won't leak. The part inside for trim (the one you cut) is just for looks **Q: Does this have thermostat control?** A: No thermostat control. **Q: What is the height in inches of the shroud that screws into the ceiling and slides into the main vent? I need at least 5 inches.** A: I believe from memory. It is 3.25 inches, bottom of fan shroud is one inch. I also needed about 5 inches.
